It is no secret that I. LOVE. FALL! So I was happy to make this cute, re-purposed, no-sew pillow to add to my seasonal decor! I found a thrift store pillow and spruced it up in a jiffy all with no sewing! It’s another great way to use up scrap fabric!
Here is everything you’ll need for this craft…
- Throw pillow. I found an unused pillow form from my thrift store, but you could also find a used pillow and just remove the cover!
- Fabric, enough to cover that pillow. I snagged the buffalo check from Dollar Tree.
- Orange burlap, or similar accent fabric.
- Plain brown burlap
- A little raffia, I used green on top of my pumpkin
- An accent tag
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Scissors

Here’s how I did it…
First, lay out your main fabric, and hot glue the edge directly to the pillow. Then, fold over the opposite edge, and glue it down to fully cover the side. You’ll want that seam to be the back side. You will want some extra (maybe ~6 inches) hanging loose off the edges.

For the loose ends on the side, cut about 1-inch strips from the loose ends, which we’ll be tying up later.

Then tie the opposite ends together. Make sure they are nice and tight with double knots. You don’t want them coming loose!

Next, trim some of the longer edges just a little, so everything is nearly the same length. You can also do some extra little cuts and tear them for more ragged frays.

Now use your orange burlap to cut out a scrap that will turn into your pumpkin. I actually found this stuff at Hobby Lobby being sold as a table runner for spring. A fun thing to add here might be to add a face, making it a jack-o-lantern! I cut out a little stem for the top using regular burlap.

I added a little accent tag, which I also found from Hobby Lobby, to help break up the orange and add interest. A little regular burlap behind that tag will let it pop even more! Then, some green raffia will finish it off beautifully. Almost reminds me of Cinderella’s carriage! Hot glue all of that in place, but be careful with all the holes in the burlap.

This turned out so stinkin’ cute, and it took no time! I’m so glad I snagged this orange burlap in the spring, knowing I would be able to use it for all of my fall crafts!
