Hey y’all, hey! Today we made a Christmas tree out of wood rounds. Here’s the video with all the details, and you can also follow along here on the blog!
This is a great craft to do with the kids during the Christmas holidays!

Here are the supplies I used:
Wood rounds (gifted from our friend Karen Lewis! You may find similar ones at Hobby Lobby or Michaels)
Amazon: Wood star
Dollar Tree: 11 X 14 canvas, wood stems and “Let it snow” wood sentiment
Hobby Lobby: Mod Podge, plaid tissue paper
Walmart: Red ric rac
Debi’s Design Diary Gypsy Green
Let’s make it!

If you are using the tissue paper, apply a THIN coat of Mod Podge to your canvas.

Smooth out your tissue paper (scrapbook paper or fabric works also). Be sure to get your paper straight on the canvas! Mine is a little crooked but we made it work, y’all!

Cut the bulk of the excess off with your scissors.

And then sand down the leftover on the edges.

Set aside or dry with a heat tool or blow dryer.

I’m using Debi’s Design Diary DIY Gypsy Green chalk paint to paint each of my wood rounds.

You can set yours aside to dry, or use a heat tool.

I placed my painted rounds on the surface to create the shape of a Christmas tree.

Hot glue the wood rounds to the surface.

And stack them to give the project depth.
TIP: Leave the edges unpainted for a natural look. You can also sand the green a little or use no paint at all. It will be gorgeous either way!

Add ric rac along the edges.

This little star from Amazon just needed some white paint and glitter!

I used Mod Podge to add confetti snowflakes (a gift from our friend Amanda Armstrong), and then added the “Let it snow” wood sentiment with hot glue.

And here’s the finished project! It was easy and fun to make!

Let me know in the comments what you might create with wood rounds. They really are fun to craft with!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
XOXO-Erin
