All I have to say is I’m BLOWN AWAY by this one. I even shocked myself! I had no idea a Dollar Tree plastic “Silver” tray could be so dang beautiful.

Here’s what I used:
- Dollar Tree Tray
- Apple Barrel Jet Black, White, and Territorial Beige Paint.
- Spray Bottle for Water
- Paint Brushes. YOU CAN BUY SOME GOOD ONES RIGHT IN OUR STORE just click > HERE
- FINE grit Sanding Sponge
- Waverly Antique Wax in Brown (From Walmart)
- Gloss Mod Podge Spray
I used wooden beads as a detail around the tray, but you could easily use dollar tree rope, or something else that you have

The Key for this Project is to layer, and then use your fine grit sanding sponge to take away what you want. Use your brush to stipple the paint and cause a speckled effect. Also, use a water bottle to spray water super close to your paint before it dries to cause a splatter effect. Alternate between these different techniques.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SEAL IT WITH THE MOD PODGE SPRAY UNTIL YOU ARE COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH THE WAY YOUR “MIRROR” LOOKS.

After you finish with the inside of your tray, paint the outside to look like the frame of the mirror! Once I was finished with that, I added the beads for a detail. If you want to use wooden beads too, you can pick them up on amazon for the best price. Here is our affiliate link.

Here is an example of what your final “glass” might look like after it is sealed! Get creative with it and have fun. The great news is the trays are only a dollar if you mess up!
