Hey girl, hey! How cute is this door hanger, y’all? It’s a great way to put a pop of spring on your door. There are lots of ways to create this project, so check out the video for all the ideas! You can also follow along here on the blog. I hope it inspires you to get crafty!
Amazon: Posca Paint markers Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Michaels Grab Bag: Sunflower surface (This can be any kind of surface, you don’t need a sunflower shape.)
Hobby Lobby: Patchwork fabric, burlap, striped fabric
Dollar Tree: Seersucker blue striped fabric (fat quarters), green mesh ribbon
Let’s make it!
I cut my petals on the fold, making a long oval shape. Then I folded it so the front layer is just under the back layer (see third image) and then I pinched the folded end and hot glued it.
Next, I hot glued it to the surface.
I left enough space in between the petals (the burlap ones) for two fabric petals. I just went along the outer edge and hot glued them on.
You can see about how far the current row is from the previous one. You won’t need to measure because you can fluff it up when it’s all done and it will fill in just right.
Just keep placing your petals around until your centerpiece covers the pinched edges of the last row. I used four different fabrics, and my center is a wood round, but you can use anything…cardboard, a jar lid, just use what you’ve got, girl!
This textured green mesh ribbon is from Dollar Tree. I glued a few pieces behind the first row of petals, just to give it some texture.
For the center of the flower, I traced the circle onto my fabric. The green dots on this burlap don’t go with the fabrics, so I used a white Posca Paint Marker (linked in supply list above) to paint over the green.
Next, I hot glued the fabric to the circle, then hot glued the circle onto the project.
And y’all! I think this turned out so pretty!
Let me know in the comments below what you think! This project can be made for any holiday like Christmas, July 4… the list goes on!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
