Hey y’all, hey! Mr. Erin made a batch of these pom pom templates just for a friend’s event, but I wanted to show you how to make one because it’s super fun!

Supplies:
A pom pom maker or something shaped like this below. You can even use cardboard! You’ll need two pieces, just alike. Mine makes a 4″ pom pom, but you can make any size depending on the size of your template.

Lay a length of twine along the “C” shape. You’ll want long strands at the end of your “C”.

Choose your yarn, or you can also use strips of fabric for a fun look. Can’t y’all just see a bunch of these as a garland?
TIP: Think baby colors for a nursery garland, various strips of fabric for a country theme or school colors, the list goes on!

Hold one strand of yarn down on your “C”, and begin wrapping. You’ll want to cover the “C” then go back and wrap again. Do this until you are happy with the amount of yarn (or fabric) for your pom pom.

Y’all ready for this? It’s the best part!
Cut it!
That’s right, slip your scissors into the space between the two templates and cut.

Just like this:

After cutting, your pom pom should look something like this.
Now take those ends of twine, pull them together and just tie a couple of snug knots. You’ll be tying in the center of the templates, bringing all of the yarn together. It’s important to get your knots snug because this step is what will hold all those little pieces into a pom pom.

Fluff it up, and POOF! You have your first pom pom!

This was so simple and fun that I want to make a ton of them! Let me know in the comments what you think, and if you’ve made some before. I appreciate and read all of your comments!
Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO-Erin
