Let’s make it!
These Dollar Tree houses are just perfect for this craft, y’all! Now, the one I’m showing here might be from last year, but any of them will do.
I started out by painting it all over with Apple Barrel Nutmeg Brown.
TIP: When you go to buy your little houses, you might want to check the bottoms to be sure you can remove the light in case you want to spray paint them.
Next, I used Stone Effect Paste in Brown Granite from Milton’s Daughter to give it all the texture of a real gingerbread house! You can see it’s pretty thick. I painted it on and also dabbed it where needed.
I only needed one coat of each Apple Barrel and Stone Effect.
Next, I dried my house with my heat tool and then painted it with Posca paint pens from Amazon. Girl, you don’t need to be an artist! Just put lines and dots, then some more lines and dots! It was a little intimidating at first, but the process is enjoyable and fun all at the same time.
Here they are, most are lit up, but the one I made here today needs batteries, so I have to go get them!
Girl, this craft just made me happy! Let me know in the comments if you want to try it! I appreciate every comment and each one of you.
Thanks for stopping by,
