Junkyard Pumpkins, decorating pumpkins with junk

Hey Y’all!

Today was pumpkin “carving” day in our house! My littlest had help with her traditional Jack-o-Lantern. I decided for the Mom and Dad pumpkins we would bring back the “Junkyard Pumpkin” from my childhood. If you don’t know what that is, well be prepared to see the cutest dang pumpkins EVER!! Or at least I think so.

Who has a junk drawer or 7 in their house? I know I do!!! This is a fun way to put some of those odds and ends to use.

There is no rhyme or reason to this, just gather all your junk in a pile and let yourself get creative. The rustier the junk, the better.

Drawer pulls for the eyes, and mouth. Clamps for the ears. An old rusty chingadadder for the nose. Roll-y drawer thingy’s for the eye brows. Some kind of metal something hooks for parts of the face. Wheels for some ears. Any rusty ol’ thing can be any part of your pumpkin you want.

I think our Mrs. and Mr. Lizzy junkyard pumpkins turned out so cute!!

Of course the Lizzy pumpkin needed hand crafted rusty wire glasses.

These were so fun to do, and look adorable on the porch.

If you love them as much as we do, will you do us a favor and…
