Hey girl, hey! This is a great summer dessert, and can be altered to celebrate any occasion! I’m making it for my family for July 4. Check out the video below for the crazy that is going on right now. Y’all. There are roosters and firemen. It’s all explained on the video.
I wasn’t ready, y’all.
Ingredients:
1 roll of sugar cookie dough
1 block of cream cheese, softened
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Let’s make it!
I put the refrigerated cookie dough in a casserole dish and popped it into the oven. Then I sliced my strawberries while the cookie dough was baking.
I combined 1 cup of powdered sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla to the (softened) cream cheese into a mixing bowl.

When I stepped away to mix up the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla, my dog Bear decided to keep watch over those strawberries. He did a fine job; they were all there when I got back to the table.

Look close at those beaters, y’all.
Do you see it? Yeah. I have a set just like these somewhere in this house!
Anyway, the cream cheese is all mixed and ready to layer!

The sugar cookie is done and still hot. You can wait till it cools or go ahead and spread out the cream cheese while it is still warm.

I spread it on while it was still cooling. Nothing terrible happened!

I made stripes with blueberries and the sliced strawberries. This is the easy way, but if you want to make it a bit more detailed, use the blueberries to form a square in one corner, then pipe in the cream cheese to make the white stripes. Place the strawberries in between the white stripes, and boom! You have a flag!

Let me know in the comments below what you enjoy making for a summer dessert!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
