Hobby Lobby Inspired Christmas Gnome Pillow

I saw a gnome pillow at Hobby Lobby while I was dressed as a Campbell’s soup can (check out the video here) and it was priced at $44.99! Y’all! We can make this for just a couple of dollars using some supplies from the Dollar Tree, some trim and Poly-fil!

But someone let Pam into my craft room! She’s not even fully dressed, but y’all know when Pam is in the house, we do things PAM’s way!

Here’s the pillow from Hobby Lobby that inspired our project. It will go on sale, but the one we are making is lots more affordable, even at the sale price!

Here are the supplies I used:

Dollar Tree: checked placemat, mop head

Walmart: red and black plaid fabric

Other: pompom trim, Poly-fil, half wood beads

Ready to make it? I am, but first we dance!

That’s Pam right there, wearing a Pam mullet! If y’all haven’t met Pam, you need to visit the Lizzy and Erin Facebook page!

Anyway, here we go: I cut a triangle to use as a pattern for the gnome hats, then cut them out of the red and black plaid.

Then I used a Dollar Tree mop head for the beards. Just cut the strings off, close to the center. Once you have cut as many as you want, run a bead of hot glue just under where you would like the hats to go. When everyone has a beard, you can give them a trimmy-trim so they match. (See below)

Now let’s add the hats. Glue them down along all three sides and just over the mop strings. Once the hats are all on, add a little pompom on each of the pointy tops. Add more pompoms just randomly on the pillow for “snow”.

How about some stuffing, y’all?

I cut the threads to make a slit just big enough for my hand to go in. You can use a seam ripper if you have one. We will eventually glue it shut.

The placemat fabrics on front and back are kinda stuck together, so put your hand inside to separate them.

Stuff the placemat with your Poly-Fil, and be sure to get those corners good and tight!

Once you’ve filled it with stuffing, just hot glue the opening and close it like you see in the last picture. You might want to use silicone finger covers or a craft stick to hold it till the glue cools off!

And now a word about Herbie and Pam!

This is Herbie in his summer duds. He is Pam’s boyfriend, well most of the time. Herbie and Pam are off and on, depending on what other cute guys might be in town.

A stunning portrait of Pam herself! The Pam and Herbie pictures were created by Mi-Chelle Merryman, of Sweet Expressions Door Decor. Check out her Facebook page! She is a very talented artist and crafter!

But LOOK AT THIS! Just look at it! What a beautiful couple Herbie and Pam are, all dressed up for Christmas! Mi-Chelle really outdid herself on these!

And here we have our finished Christmas gnome pillow! It’s every bit as cute as the one that inspired it, and it will be a sweet decoration this year!

I hope you enjoyed this craft, and of course, a cameo appearance of Pam in her mullet! Let me know in the comments below if you might make a Christmas gnome pillow this year, and please do visit Mi-Chelle’s page!

Thank you for stopping by and having some fun with Pam!

XOXO-Erin
