I love fall, especially when making something beautiful out of thrifted or discounted supplies!
This was fun to make and it turned out just perfect for a greeting on the door or wall. Check out the video here for all the details.

Here are the supplies I used:
12″ Embroidery hoop (thrifted)
Hobby Lobby: Fall sprig / pick
Debi’s Design Diary Faded Burlap
Raffia
Burlap
Dollar Tree: pumkin, plaid placemat
Michaels: Hello Pumpkin greeting
Wood beads
Twine for hanger
Let’s get started!
This pick from Hobby Lobby is just beautiful!

The “Hello pumpkin” wood greeting came from Michaels Make Market. I’m sure I bought it on sale!

First, be sure where your screw top is. You’ll want it on the top of your project if you use a hanger like the one I made.
Now, put the placemat in the hoop and pull it tight!
TIP: Put your burlap on before you put the fabric in the hoop, y’all! I was busy talking about our missing cat and had to go to plan B! It still works, as you’ll see below.

Trim and then hot glue the edges.

Here’s where I used plan B! The burlap can be glued on the outside, just wrap it around the hoop and glue it on the back of your project.

In the video, you’ll see that I first painted the greeting in green. It just didn’t show up well enough, so I came back with Debi’s Design Diary Faded Burlap.

Faded burlap for the win!

Hot glue will work great to attach the fall pick.

Just adding a bit more glue to hold a leaf down. It was trying to be the boss of the “p” in pumpkin!

I needed to add some glue to the edge where some of the leaves were sticking out.

Well, that was fast! Time to make the hanger!
I used three beads, two yellow and one natural. I strung them on twine and tied a loop at the top, then just tied it to the screw closure on the hoop.

Don’t you love it when you can make something so nice for your home? Or, you can give it as a gift! Either way, it’s just perfect for welcoming fall!

I appreciate every one of you for stopping by! It makes my day to read your comments, so let me know what you’re getting crafty with this fall!
XOXO-Erin
