Heart sign

Hey girl hey! Here’s a sweet and simple project that you’ll enjoy making! Check out my video below or follow along here on the blog.

Supplies I used:

Dollar Tree: 10 driftwood biscuits, plaid ribbon, sign from last year’s summer decor

Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: Petticoat Pink

Hobby Lobby: scrapbook paper, Mod Podge

Amazon: black Scrabble letters

Lowes (or any hardware store) 15 in 1 (also called 5 in 1) painters tool

Let’s make it!

These oval wood things are called biscuits. The ones I found at Dollar tree look like driftwood!

And I found this “Home” sign at Dollar Tree last summer. It’s just right for our project today. I saved the beaded hanger for a future project.

I removed everything from the sign by heating up the clam shell as well as the trim around the sides.

I pried it off with this tool that you can find at pretty much any hardware store.

Once I had pried everything off, I sanded down the rough parts on the surface.

Next, I put Mod Podge on the surface.

I added my scrapbook paper, then trimmed the sides and sanded the edges.

TIP: Check to see if your scrapbook paper has a vertical pattern before placing it on your sign.

TIP: If your sign is larger than 12X12, you’ll need another piece of scrapbook paper.

I painted the trim with Debi’s Design Diary Petticoat Pink, then hot glued them to my surface.

TIP: Line up the nail holes that match the trim piece and the surface if you want to string your hanger through. (Ask me how I know! LOL!)

Place your wood biscuits to make a heart shape, then hot glue each one on.

Choose your sentiment and hot glue your letters on. I found mine at Amazon. Click here to shop Amazon for the ones like I used. (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

How sweet is this? It’s a simple, yet pretty addition to your decor!

Let me know in the comments what you might have your sign say. It would be cute as a baby shower gift or just a sweet farmhouse sign for your home!

Thank you for stopping by!

XOXO-Erin
