Farmhouse Risers

TikTok made me do it, y’all!

Frugaholic on TikTok (aka: Angelina) used wooden snowmen from Dollar Tree to make feet for risers! It is GENIUS! Genius, y’all! I had to do it, and you can see the video here, or check out the steps below.

Here’s the supply list:

Dollar Tree: wooden snowmen (8 per pack), fine grit sanding sponge and two craft sticks

Hobby Lobby: Happy Easter sign (90% off, mine was .79) You can use any kind of sign, but this was cute with the half beads already on it.

Amazon: Half wood beads click here for my affiliate link!

Debi’s Design Diary White Swan and Apothecary paints, as well as white wax

I used the back side of one of these signs from Dollar Tree to make the larger one. You can remove the inside if you’d like.

I will use the front side of this one because it already has those beads!

These half wooden beads will dress up the bigger riser and coordinate it with the smaller one.

The Happy Easter sign doesn’t have much of an edge, so a bit of hot glue and two craft sticks will give enough support for the little snowmen.

How stinkin’ cute are these? I just hot glued them UPSIDE DOWN to the craft sticks and boom! They become feet! Genius, yall!

I’m using Debi’s Design Diary Apothecary for our first riser. This color is beautiful! You can also use scrapbook paper to cover the top and sides.

My heat tool warmed up the glue on the label so I could scrape it off.

Then I used hot glue to attach the wooden half beads all around the edges.

Gave it some Apothecary paint.

And used my heat tool to dry it. You can set yours aside to dry if you’d like.

This fine grit sanding sponge is great for giving just a bit more personality to a project.

Here’s how it looks with a bit of Debi’s Design Diary white wax. Just paint it on and wipe it off! It leaves a beautiful milky finish!

Y’all! Style it however you’d like! I added some Christmas projects (check out the video for the snowman here) and also styled it for the kitchen! Just use what you have, girl!

Let’s make the small one! I just painted it with Debi’s Design Diary White Swan and once dry, I added white wax, also from Debi’s.

About the wax: it is a protective seal, you just paint it on and wipe it off. You can also use clear sealer, Mod Podge or clear wax.

She’s so pretty, y’all!

TIP: Get a jar from Dollar Tree and add one of those floral frog lids. It makes a great dispenser for twine or put in an air freshener.
