Here’s another super cute dollar tree upcycle for y’all!! Super cheap too!!!
Here’s what you need:

- Dollar Tree Silver Tray (I found them by the plates)
- Chalk Paint and Paint Brush
- Sanding Sponge
- Mod Podge
- Scrapbook Paper
- Clothes Pin
- Decorative Ribbon/ Raffia
- Plate Holder
- OPTIONAL: Waverly antique wax
Start by cleaning the tray really well. Once it is clean and dry, apply several thin coats of Chalk paint. (Just around the edges)

If you don’t want to buy chalk paint you can always mix up your own by using our chalk paint recipe.
When you are happy with your coverage, move on to the next step.

Cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit in the center of the tray. Apply a thin coat of mod

podge to the back of the paper and stick it to the center of the tray. If your edges are lifting just add mod podge so that it stays down.
Now you’ll want to let it sit long enough for the mod podge underneath to be completely dry.
Take your sanding sponge and lightly run it over the edges distressing the paint a bit. Start with a light hand and then get heavier once you get a feel for it.

I LOVE distressing decoupaged paper. There is just something about the way it looks that I love. Take your sanding sponge, and start rubbing it over the scrap book paper. Use the same technique as you did around the edges.
Dust everything off. You can now take your Waverly antique wax and hit up the details with it. This is completely optional. I find that it adds an aged look to the project.

Now you can take your clothes pin and glue it right to the tray. Add a cute bow for a fun detail.

That’s all it takes to make this adorable little project. You can find a live video on our facebook page right here if you want to see step by step instruction on how to create it.

It turned out too stinkin’ cute!

If you love this as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and….
