Dollar Tree Metal Tin Upcycle

I love these dollar tree tins!! The best thing about them is that they are great just as they are!! This is a simple little upcycle.

All you need is:

  • Dollar Tree Tin
  • Chalk Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Waverly Antique Wax
  • Sanding Sponge
  • Foam
  • Greenery, or Flowers of your choice

Start with making sure your tin is clean and dry.

Add thin coats of the chalk paint until you are happy with the coverage.

You don’t have spend lots of money on Chalk Paint Y’all, as a matter of fact we use our own recipe more than we buy new.

OUR CHALK PAINT RECIPE

Once it is completely dry and you are happy with the coverage, take your sanding sponge and lightly go over the tin in different areas to distress it. I like making the words pop out with the sanding sponge.

Next, you can take the waverly antique wax, and a small brush and add a little here and there to antique it a bit. This is completely optional, but I love what it adds to the project.

Put the foam inside your tin and start arranging your greenery/flowers. I chose to only use lambs ear and some greenery I already had.

That’s it! It was that simple and I think it turned out great!!!

There isn’t anything extreme about this project. It is just simple and cute. It will make the perfect little addition to my spring mantle!!!

If you love it as much as we do, can you do us a little favor and

I love the way it turned out. I have to get away from live plants . It’s just money spent to die in short time. This way I can enjoy it forever.
    Thanks

I just want to say thank you both. You got me crafting again. I stopped after my mom passed away. She was my mentor, she was my crafting partner, my inspiration. So you again.
