I picked up these two wooden words at Dollar General. They were only $1 each, which is an awesome deal. With a little paint, wax, and scrap wood I was able to make the cutest little farmhouse shelf sitters for Valentine’s day. Honestly, I think these could stay out all year long.

I started with painting the 12 inch long 2×4 white. I used Apple Barrel paint from Walmart.

While that dried I applied the Waverly Antique Wax to the letters. Once I got it pretty well covered, I wiped away any excess with a paper towel.

Using a sanding sponge, I lightly distressed the 2×4.

I then attached the word to the 2×4 with the hot glue gun.

It was so simple and turned out absolutely beautiful.

This project was less than a few dollars to complete, and I love how simple it was.

If you love it as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and….
