Hey Y’all,
The short of it is that I needed a solution for hanging our Christmas stockings that did not involve something that my toddler could easily pull right off the shelf. I had this old box/shelf thing sitting in the garage and I thought it would be the perfect solution for my problem.

Being that it’s a box, I can put extra weight in the bottom of it to make it super sturdy and difficult to pull down. It has a wide base which also helps with the sturdy factor.

I started by taking a strip of red burlap and covering the front of the box. The words were upside down and I wanted to cover them without having to paint.

I attached the first hook in the center. The hooks were ones I already had from another project, but you could just as easily buy some from your local hardware store. Once I found the center it was easy to attach the other hooks on either side.

These unfinished J.O.Y. Letters came from Walmart. I painted them white, and distressed them a little.

I attached them to the metal hooks with E6000 and Hot Glue.

Filling the Box was the most fun. I started with some heavy wood pieces to give it weight. I then put garland in the bottom, and placed the ornaments and little arrangements inside as well. Everything inside the box came from the Dollar Tree.

All that was left, was hanging our stockings on it, and placing some lights inside as well! I absolutely love how it turned out.

It was so simple to do, and turned out really cute.

If you love it as much as we do, could you do us a favor and..
