DIY St. Patricks Day Farmhouse Shamrock

I’ll keep saying it.. because it’s true! I LOVE this one!!!! We don’t decorate much for St. Patricks day here, but what I do include I like it to blend in seamlessly with my decor!!! This DIY does the trick.

Here’s what I used!

  • Dollar Tree Sign
  • Large Craft Sticks form Lowes
  • Modpodge
  • Dollar Tree Gift Sacks
  • Paint Brush
  • Waverly antique wax from Walmart
  • White acrylic paint from Walmart
  • Sanding Sponge from the Dollar Tree
  • Green and white plaid scrap book paper out of a Christmas Book
  • Raffia and a Brown Button

I started with opening up 2 of the gift bags. These came with 10 in one package. I trimmed it to fit, and then used mod podge to adhere it to the sign. These sacks are thinner so you will be able to see a little of the sign through them, but once we add all of the other elements it will be just fine.

Once the modpodge was dry, I took the sanding sponge and heavily distressed the paper. Next, I dry brushed a little white paint over the paper to give it a really aged look.

I used 7 craft sticks, Trimmed off the rounded edges, and then used the Waverly antique Wax to stain them brown.

Glue the sticks directly to the board using your hot glue gun!

Now it’s time to work on the shamrock. I cut 3 heart shapes out of the scrap book paper, leaving a slightly wider base. I used a thin left over strip for the stem.

Use hot glue to secure your paper to the craft sticks. The reason I used hot glue is so that it would have more of a three dimensional look than it would have if I used mod podge.

I felt like it needed something so I added a cute brown button to the center.

Of course we needed a little bit of raffia to make it PERFECTLY IMPERFECT.

Y’ALL isn’t this the CUTEST!?

It makes the perfect addition to the center of a wreath, or would look adorable hanging on a door!

If y’all love it as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and…
