DIY Farmhouse Centerpiece from Thrift Store Finds

Hey Y’all,

Upcycle DIY projects are my favorite. Mainly because they involve a trip to the thrift store and exciting before and after results.

I found the candle sticks and wooden bowl at goodwill. I think the total price for the three pieces was right around $4. Not too bad!!

I loved the wooden bowl just like it was, but I decided I wanted to do it up into a Farmhouse Style “Tray” that could be the centerpiece for my table.

I cleaned it up, and then applied about 3 coats of Waverly Chalk Paint. I used the color Ivory.

Next, I took the candle sticks apart. These candlesticks were unique because I could unscrew the different pieces.

I knew I needed the base and the portion that connected to the bowl to both be wider, so I took the candle sticks apart and put them back together using both bases.

It was easy to do, because they just screwed right together.

I put about 3 coats of the same waverly chalk paint on what would now be the base of my tray.

Attaching the base is probably the trickiest part of the whole project. I used E6000, and Hot Glue. The hot glue allows the E6000 time to set without the whole thing coming a part. I also added a bead of glue around the edge once it was connected for extra security. I used the same chalk paint to cover the glue so it blended in.

I used my sanding sponge to lightly distress the edges of the base, and of the bowl. Y’all that’s it! A little styling and it is ALL READY TO GO! I think it turned out absolutely PERFECT!

I LOVE it on my table, and I wish I would have done it sooner! I can imagine it all decorated for each season!

If y’all love it as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and…
