Cooking With Criddy: Superbowl Dips!

Aunt Criddy said she doesn’t know when the Super Bowl is, or what team is playing. She’s here for the food and halftime commercials! She and Ms. Janet Bryant got together and made their favorite dips, and each one passed the taste test. Here’s the video of Aunt Criddy and Ms. Janet making these simple, but delicious dips!

Ms. Janet’s Hamburger Dip

Ingredients

* 16 ounces of Velveeta

* 10 ounce can of Rotel

* 1 pound of hamburger

* Onion (optional)

1. Start by browning hamburger in a skillet until cooked through. (If using onion, add in and sautee with the hamburger).

2. Cube the Velveeta cheese while the meat and onions are cooking.

3. Once the meat is thoroughly cooked, drain, place in crockpot, then stir in the cubes of Velveeta cheese and a can of Rotel.

4. Stir regularly as it melts and then it’s ready to serve with your choice of chips.

TIP: You can cook it on the stovetop if you need it to cook faster.

TIP: Use ground sausage or turkey, add other cheeses if you’d like. Serve with a topper bar with sour cream, avocado slices, green or red onion and cilantro.

Here’s the dip all finished and getting a taste test from Ms. Janet and Aunt Criddy! This one is a WIN!

AUNT CRIDDY’S FAN FAVORITE APPETIZER

Aunt Criddy says her family loves this dish. It’s also super easy and can be made just in time for the kickoff!

Ingredients

* 8 ounce block of Cream Cheese

* ¼ cup Red Pepper Jelly

* 8.5 oz box of Wheat Thins or favorite crackers for serving.

1-Place the cream cheese on a serving plate or platter.

2-Add the hot pepper jelly over the top of the cream cheese.

3-Place the wheat thins around the cream cheese and serve.

TIP: top the cream cheese with mango chutney, strawberry jello (suggested by a friend), marmalade, mint sauce or praline sauce.

Ms. Janet doesn’t care for spicy foods, but this jelly has just a tiny bit of spice, so it also passed the taste test.

Ranch Dip

Aunt Criddy said this is Super Bowl Simple! Keep that sour cream container so you can store the rest (if there’s any left!)

Ranch Dip

Ingredients

1 16 oz sour cream

I package of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip

1- In a bowl, stir together the sour cream and Hidden Valley Ranch dip.

2- Place the dip back into the sour cream container.

3- Place in refrigerator to chill.

4-Serve with Fritos Corn Chips.

Side note: Aunt Criddy said Uncle Criddy loves this Raspberry and Chipotle Pepper Salsa! You can use it over the cream cheese dish or just serve with chips of your choice. Some other options to serve your guests are meatballs, pigs in blankets and quiches.

These are great dips to serve your Super Bowl guests. Let me know in the comments how you might change them up a bit!

Thanks for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
