Hey Y’all,
I have been so excited to show y’all this for quite some time! I picked up this Church Pew at a garage sale for $50. WHAT A DEAL!! This has been something I’ve wanted for a LONG TIME! I didn’t even think twice about getting it.

At 7 1/2 feet long, it is quite big! I didn’t mind that though. It was in pretty rough shape, but I knew with some love and paint I could make it look just like I wanted.

I took some time to think about what I wanted to do with it. It really was hard for me to decide, because this is a FOREVER piece for me. I’m going to keep it forever, and I wanted it to be just right.

I went back and forth between going antique white and distressed, or bringing the natural wood back to life. It was a tough decision but once I decided I just WENT FOR IT. Heavily distressed is my middle name, and this piece is NO DIFFERENT for me. It NEEDED to be heavily distressed!!!

I used our chalk paint recipe that you can find right here, to make the paint. I also followed all of the steps to make sure it was completely ready for paint, and it had a nice base coat on it before finishing it out with all of the distressing.

Y’all can find more information about how to create a solid foundation, and how to get started painting furniture in our Furniture Painting Basics Group we have on Facebook. Go to this link and read all about it!!!! If you love this finish, and think you might want to do it yourself to your own piece, then that group is the best place to start.

Once I finished it, I found the perfect spot in my home for it. All that was left, was filling it with pillows and personal touches that I love. AND THEN THE GALLERY WALL BEHIND IT <3 <3!

The pillows are all ones I already had, I just covered them with various pillow covers I found on Amazon. Here’s a list for y’all if you want to check any of them out.

I added a Burlap sack for texture, and some of the fabric pumpkins I made to give it a pop of Fall!

As for the Wall. I etched the glass by using Chalk Couture Transfers, and you can see that live video right here. I added the Dark fence wood to the back, to make the glass etching pop. The “Amazing Grace” piece is one I made live on our Facebook Page. The other things are all items I already had in my home.
Y’all I am SO IN LOVE with this transformation!! It is now my favorite area of the house!!
If y’all love it as much as we do, could you do us a little favor and…..
