When I was a little girl my sister and I spent a whole lot of time swimming in a galvanized stock tank. (Water Trough)
Now that I have a kiddo of my own and three dogs, I’ve definitely burned through our fair share of plastic pools. I set my sights out on finding a tank for Riley, but didn’t want to spend the big bucks! We got super lucky and scored a used one for cheap!

It’s 10feet and needless to say we are all pretty excited! We plan to build a whole summer oasis around this big guy!

It definitely needs love and I think we are the perfect ones to give it to it!
Side note: when I started my search for stock tanks I had no idea it was a “trend”. There are all kinds of inspiration photos on pinterest and there are whole face book groups dedicated to people who love turning these things into pools!!! Who knew!?!?

Of course we let daddy do all the boring prep work on the outside. Riley and I headed to Walmart to pick a paint color!

She chose Rustoleum Seaside. Surprisingly it only took 2 1/2 cans!

I love how it turned out!! Fun and inviting which is just what we want! FYI- the black area is the bottom of the pool. He used bed liner paint he had from another project to put on the bottom. His theory is it will create a layer of protection on the bottom from the elements.
After much discussion we settled on the spot I wanted to put it. (Happy Wife Happy Life) am I right? So we started the ground prep.
Here’s a little before-ish picture of the space where the oasis will be!

We’re just getting started, and we have a ways to go. Here are some of our plans. Outdoor patio, small platform for the kids to jump off of or for us to set our adult dranks on, a shade umbrella for protection from that Texas sun, plants, and adding privacy from the neighbors (for when I do my “chunky dunkin” in the pool.)
I can’t wait to take y’all on this little adventure with us! We are just getting started!! So stay tuned!!!
XOXO-Lizzy
