Hey Friends, We are still truckin’ away on our outdoor oasis. It’s been about 4 weeks since we started it, and HOLY MOLEY have we come a long long way! When I left y’all last we had just gotten our space, and stock tank pool prepped and ready! Next, we moved on to the sunning deck.

I was slightly impatient and I COULDN’T wait to fill it with water! It would have been beneficial for us to wait to do this, because with all of the construction going on, it got PRETTY DIRTY. I disguised my impatience with an official “WE NEED TO CHECK FOR LEAKS” statement.

The whole thing seemed to go up pretty quick, but I also wasn’t the one building it! I don’t know anything about construction so I can’t give you too many details about that. I do know we mixed old and new wood to cut cost and I think it turned out great. We added a couple of fun touches with the lights in the pool and the umbrella.

I didn’t want to be able to see under the deck so I requested some type of skirting. We used left over fence boards to finish it out. Meanwhile I hung lights up in the patio area. The lights may be one of my favorite parts!
Here are a couple of Night Time photos with the lights. So DREAMY!
FLOWERS FLOWERS AND MORE FLOWERS!!! I’ve been doing a lot of research on plants that deter the pesky mosquitos and so I made it super clear that I would need LOTS of space to plant them. The flower bed was kind of an after thought but it looks like it was part of the plan all along.
We really didn’t have a plan for how we would finish everything out around the pool but as it started to come together we came up with some ideas to use what we already had. My MAIN GOAL with the area around the pool is to KEEP LITTLE FEET CLEAN. Clean feet makes for a cleaner pool and less work for us. We had all of the pavers from my sisters old patio they tore out so we put them to good use. A little bit of leveling work, and some gravel and it just looks AMAZING!

Y’all I think we are all just kind of sitting back in awe of what this area is becoming! WE can’t wait to spend so much time out here!

A little side note. That GIANT ring thing you see sitting on the deck was an accidental midnight purchase. I thought it was so much smaller when I ordered it on zulily in the middle of the night. To my shock it is almost as big as the pool! WHOOPS!!!!

I think the last bit of the “Construction” portion of things is done y’all and the keys have officially been passed to me. It’s TIME for me to GO TO WORK decorating, planting flowers, and bringing the WHOLE space together. Next update will be a completed project!!!!! HAPPY HAPPY DANCE DANCE!!!!
To see where we started with this whole thing check out the first two blog posts. You won’t believe your eyes y’all! POST NUMBER ONE and POST NUMBER TWO!
XOXO- LIZZY
