All About Lizzy

Hey Y’all!

I’m going to try and keep this long and sour. (Yes, my dear husband, I know I have “old lady jokes”).  Honestly, there probably won’t be anything short about this bio, but maybe I can make it moderately sweet.  I love to write.  It is an outlet for me, and I find it to be incredibly therapeutic. So, I hope all of you like to read.  Now that we’ve gotten through the hidden disclaimer about how long winded I can be, we should probably move on to the generic stuff.

I am from a small town in East Texas,  but I currently live in Upstate New York. I am a Mom to a very active two-year old girl. I am also a Mom to 3 dogs who are strategically named after the Dukes of Hazard. I am a pretty average wife of 17 years, and a below average “Army Wife” to an ordinary guy who happens to be a soldier. I am completely obsessed with my daughter who we waited 15 years of our marriage for. I am blessed by adoption and am honored to be a part of my beautiful transracial family.  I am a full-time student, and a self-proclaimed hot mess (I’m pretty sure my husband agrees.)

I spend my days digging things out of my daughter’s mouth, and yelling “drop it”, “leave it”, and “don’t eat that” as I chase the dogs around the house. I am eclectic in all aspects of my life.  For example, you can find everything from Tupac to George Straight on my apple play list.  I will jump on any opportunity to be creative, and I’d like to think I’m pretty loyal. I stink at all things domestic, and struggle with multitasking. I am the opposite of punctual, and I can find the beauty in almost anything old and dusty (Even People). I am open minded to all that the world has to offer despite my very conservative upbringing.

Laughter is how I survive day to day! I am imperfect, I am humble, I am irrational, I am flawed, I am proud, and I am blessed. I like to think that I am all things contradictory because I am human. Somehow, despite my ever-growing list of character flaws we manage to make it through every day.  None the less, navigating through my world is an adventure and I’ve learned a thing or two along the way that I’m excited to share with ya’ll!

I hope ya’ll will find the joy and laughter in our journey through this crazy life! Most of all, along with Erin, I hope I am able to inspire you to be creative, and to find the joy in anything and everything you do!

I have to tell you, I have been a major crafter for many years. For the last three years I suffered a physical injury, a personal injury and lost my mom. I hadn’t made anything for three years. Then one night I stumbled across one of you videos! I was so excited, you girls have inspired me to get back to it, to enjoy, I finally have fell in love with crafting, I owe it to the two of you. God does things in amazing ways! Thank you so much for sharing your life and love with me!
