Make your own Christmas Tree Art decor

Hey Y’all!!

We made the cutest framed Christmas Tree art live on FaceBook yesterday for Day 5 of our 12 Day’s of Christmas Crafts.  We had fun crafting together, so much so that we lost track of time.  That seems to happen when we get to craftin’.  Our creative minds wander and something super adorable happens wether we realized it would or not!!  We both did our own spin on the same project.  Erin won with her project cost, as she only spent $1.00 by using things she already had around the house!  She is the master of crafting/decorating on a budget.  Lizzy spent an astounding $7.  Both turned out super cute!

Here’s the Basic’s of What We Used: (We encourage you to use what you have around the house for any little extra details.)

Erin-  Ribbon, Scissors, Burlap, Hot Glue and a Frame!

First, paint/distress you frame however you like!

Next, cover the back of your frame with the burlap that you measured to fit (secure with hot glue).  The burlap is the backdrop for your tree.  Remove the glass, you won’t need it for this project.

Now you are ready to take your ribbon and cut 3 to 4 triangles sizes Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large.  Make sure they fit inside your frame. You’ll also need a trunk for your tree.  Cut a small rectangle to use for the trunk, or you can use something you already have.  Erin used glitter tape.

Finally, start layering your tree.  Start with the trunk and work your way to the top hot gluing each piece.

Here’s the part where you get to be creative!  Add a tree topper, or decorate your frame with other little things, and there you have it!  Perfectly cute Christmas Tree art!!

Lizzy- Wrapping Paper, Scissors, Brown Paper Bag, Hot Glue and a Frame!

Lizzy followed all of the same steps as Erin.  The only difference was that she used wrapping paper instead of ribbon!

Here’s a great idea that Erin had to help get the kids involved!!  Have the kiddos color the sections of your tree, or use some of their Christmas art work they’ve made at school.

We had so much fun making these guys!!  If you make them send us pictures because we want to see them!!!  You can watch us make them live here.

Happy Holiday’s,

Lizzy and Erin
