Hey Y’all!
Two of my most favorite kids and I kicked off our 12 days of Christmas Crafts together, by making super cute little Reindeer Candy Canes. I absolutely love crafting with my Niece and Nephew, and one day when I’m confident my daughter will not eat the glue sticks, we will add her to our crafting parties! It was so fun, and the kids loved it. Their favorite part was at the end when they got to eat the candy canes. We all managed to survive. There were no third degree glue gun burns, no cut fingers, and most of all they hung in there through the whole craft with their crazy ol’ Auntie!
Here’s What You Need:
- Googly Eyes
- Candy Canes
- Brown Pipe Cleaners
- Little Pom Pom’s to use as the nose of the Reindeer.
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Glue Gun, or some type of adhesive to attach the eyes and the nose to the candy cane.
You start by wrapping the pipe cleaner around the curve of the candy cane, to simulate the antlers. We then curled the pipe cleaners with our fingers. (My beautiful niece suggested using a pencil, which is very smart.)
Next Attach your nose and eyes with the hot glue gun or adhesive you prefer.
Finally Tie a ribbon around the “neck” of the reindeer.
These are so simple to make, and the result is absolutely adorable! It is a quick project, and will likely hold the kiddos attention long enough to finish it. Some of you might understand the pure torture of those moments where a simple project/craft with the kiddos turns into an all day event/nightmare. Chaos either takes over, or you just end up alone at the table painting handprint Santas by yourself while everyone else has moved on to watching Christmas movies in the other room.
If y’all make these cute little things, send us a picture!! We love seeing y’all create cute and fun stuff! Stay tuned for day 2 of our 12 Days of Christmas Crafts!!
xoxo, Lizzy
